During late 2007 The Prescott National Forest (PNF) published a proposal asking for public comment. The proposal is to create a 50-mile trail system circling the Prescott area (the area included in the above map). This proposal for action on the trail includes new trails, relocation of existing trails, conversion of certain trails from motorized to non-motorized, and conversion of roads to trails. A further feature will include a system of four dispersed camping sites that will accommodate 8-10 people and allow groups to travel the trail in one trip over several days. The public review of the project has ended, but more information about the project contact: Bradshaw Ranger District The Yavapai Trails Association initiated the concept of a Prescott Circle Trail (PCT) over a decade ago and is now fully supporting the further development of the trail within the PNF and well as those trail segments both planned and existing on State Trust Land sections, private developments, and City of Prescott public lands. To further the acquisition of necessary easements, YTA is inviting donations to an account dedicated to the Prescott Circle Trail. Please consider a donation for PCT and call Jim Pessin, Treasurer (928-771-2707) for more information or mail a check to Yavapai Trails Association, P.O. Box 403, Prescott, AZ 86302 with the notation "Prescott Circle Trail." To view printable PDF map click this link.
